Students’ residency statuses are reviewed when they are admitted to the university. If a student is considered a non-Missouri resident at the time of admission, they will automatically be considered for a Non-Resident Scholarship or the Metropolitan Rate. Non-Missouri residents who wish to participate in the Midwest Student Exchange Program will need to apply separately to the program.

Note: These scholarships are mutually exclusive and therefore cannot be combined or stacked with one another. These Scholarships are not stackable withFreshmen Merit ScholarshipsandTransfer Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are available to US Citizens or permanent residents. Student must be working on their First Bachelor’s Degree to be eligible.

Renewal: Recipients must remain enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at UMSL, maintain residency in Illinois, and make satisfactory progress toward program completion.
Amount: MSEP enables residents fromIndiana,Kansas,Minnesota,Nebraska,North Dakota,Ohio, orWisconsinto enroll at UMSL at tuition levels discounted below non-resident rates. MSEP students pay 150 percent of UMSL’s resident tuition. Application required. Visit theResidency websitefor additional information.
Renewal: Recipients must remain enrolled in an UMSL degree program, maintain residency in a participating state, and make satisfactory progress toward program completion. MSEP status is revoked if a student changes to non-participating degree program.
Amount: 100% of non-resident fees
Freshmen Criteria: First-time freshmen who are part of the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) States or from a Missouri Border State of Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky, Oklahoma, or Tennessee with a composite ACT score of 24 or better (or SAT equivalent)ora 3.5 High School core GPA. Full-time enrollment required.
Transfer Criteria: New transfer studentswho are part of the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) States or from a Missouri Border State of Arkansas, Iowa, Kentucky,Oklahoma,or Tennesseeand are transferring at least 45 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Full-time enrollment required.
Renewal: Recipients must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours between the fall and spring semesters and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better. Renewable for up to three additional years for freshmen. Renewable for one additional year for transfers.
Amount: 50% of non-resident fees
Freshmen Criteria: 大一新生不是密苏里州居民with a composite ACT score of 24 or better (or SAT equivalent). Full-time enrollment required. Students receiving the Metropolitan Rate or participating in the Midwest Student Exchange Program are not eligible.
Transfer Criteria: New transfer students who are not Missouri residents and are transferring at least 24 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or better. Full-time enrollment required.
