Transferring to the University of Missouri-St. Louis is simple.

Step 2:Submit your official transcripts to the Office of Admissions.

Transfer applicants with 24 or more transferable, college-level credit hours at the time of application needonlyto submit transcripts from all schools where they have attended and/or earned credit. These must be sent directly from the sending institution. Hand-delivered or faxed transcripts will not be accepted.

All credentials submitted for admission will remain on file with the university.

UMSL also accepts official transcripts sent electronically if delivered through one of the following exchanges:National Student Clearinghouse,Parchment, andeScript-Safe. These should be sent toadmissions@umsl.eduif an email address is requested.

Once all of the necessary paperwork has been received, it usually take 3-5 business days to process your application and send you a decision depending on the time of the year and the volume of applications the Admission Office is receiving. However, you cantrack your application statusonline with your the login ID and password that you will receive shortly after submission.

Note:Applicants with fewer than 24 transferable credit hours must apply under therequirements for Freshman Admissionwhich includes the need to submit high school transcripts and composite ACT scores.

When should I apply?

Prospective students may apply and be admittedany day of the year. However, it is recommended that you apply as soon as you are ready. This will ensure that you are eligible for the maximum amount of financial aid you qualify for.

We recommend starting the application process in:

  • February for the fall or summer semester
  • September for the spring semester

Transfer students applying forScholarships and Grantsshould be admitted before the following scholarship deadlines:

  • Fall Semester:April 1
  • Spring Semester:December 1

And remember tocomplete your FAFSAby the February 1 deadline.
